Booking Process and Frequently Asked Questions

Pricing

My tattoos are priced by the piece, with factors such as size, amount of detail, placement, and needed materials taken into account. For pieces that can be completed within a single day (which is typically up to six hours), prices may range from $180 - $1,100.

For multi-day projects such as full sleeves, $1,100 will be used as a daily rate.

For single session projects, I will provide you your final, fixed cost at the time of our consultation/booking. For multi-session projects, I will provide you a range of how many sessions I expect we will need.

If you are working within a specific budget, please include this within your booking request and I will do my best to design/work within it. If this requires adaptations to the design/idea, I'm always happy to discuss changes in our consultation or provide alternative options.

Payment options: For tattoos under $500, I ask that you bring cash to your appointment. For tattoos over $500, I will also accept Zelle to accommodate the difficulty of ATM withdrawal limits. If you do not have cash or Zelle for your appointment, there will be a 2% surcharge for the use of Venmo or a credit card.

Tipping: Tips are always appreciated but never required. If you would like to leave a non-monetary tip (plants, crafts, etc.), it will also be dearly appreciated and loved.

Deposits

A non-refundable deposit is required for each appointment booked. For small to medium sized tattoos, the deposit will be $100, for full-day sessions the deposit will be $200 for each day that is scheduled. The deposit will apply towards the total cost of the tattoo.

The following situations will result in a forfeiture of your deposit. In these cases, a new deposit will be required to re-book...

  • Rescheduling with less than 72 hours notice

  • Rescheduling more than once

  • Cancelling your appointment after booking

  • Not showing up on the day of your appointment (for any reason). In cases where a client does not show up for their appointment, and also does not call or email before the appointment time, re-booking will also not be an option.

Do you send designs in advance?

I ask for a lot of trust in my design process, and make choices while drawing that will ultimately make your tattoo fit well on the body, be read-able at a distance, and last over time. Sometimes, these choices are hard to explain and discuss when not in-person, therefore I prefer not to show designs in advance of our appointment.

Once we are together, I am always happy to discuss and explain my reasoning for a design, as well as make any small changes that you would like.

Significant changes or a full redraw may require an additional deposit and/or rescheduled appointment date given that this is essentially commissioning a new piece of art. This is why it is extremely important that you communicate all specific needs/wants in your initial request and consultation.

Can we try out different sizes and placements?

On the day of your appointment, we can take all the time we need to decide on your ideal placement as well as make adjustments to the size of your design. I'm always happy to print out multiple stencils and place them in different spots so you can get a good feel for which you prefer.

What should I do to prepare for my appointment?

A tattoo can be compared to a medical procedure seeing as that your skin undergoes trauma as ink is injected. This means you'll want your body to be in ideal shape to heal prior to your appointment. To achieve this, please do the following prior to your appointment:

1) Get a good nights sleep

2) Refrain from drinking before your appointment (absolute minimum 24 hours before, preferably 2-3 days before)

3) Shower (both for my sake and so that you don't need to shower immediately after the tattoo appointment)

4) Avoid heavy exercise 1-2 days before your tattoo (anything that may cause shaking or muscle spasms)

5) Minimize caffeine on the day of your tattoo

6) Arrive a few minutes early so we can have a calm and relaxed day!

What if I need to reschedule?

Please understand that rescheduling your appointment without advance notice most often presents a significant inconviennce and results in a loss of income (both since I am then unable to work and because I pre-pay a daily rate for my studio space).

Of course, I also understand that plans sometimes change, so I just ask that if you need to reschedule, please let me know at least 72 hours prior to your appointment time. If you are able to reach out earlier, it would be greatly appreciated.

Rescheduling less than 72 hours prior to your appointment will result in a forfeiture of your deposit, and a new deposit will be required to re-book.

Rescheduling more than once (regardless of prior notice) will also result in a forfeiture of your deposit and a new deposit will be required to re-book.

I take my commitment to honor your appointment date and time very seriously and kindly ask that you do the same. Your understanding in this regard is very much appreciated.

Do you do cover ups?

I will consider a limited number of cover ups, provided the requested design is in my style and within the comfort zone of what I feel I can successfully tattoo. Given that my work often uses finer lines and less shading, it will not lend itself to cover-ups in many situations. Regardless, I am always happy to discuss your unique situation regarding cover-ups with you. If you are requesting a cover-up, please email a picture of the existing design to me with any reference photos when you submit your booking request.

Do you tattoo all skin types, colors, and ages?

I tattoo all skin types, colors, and ages, and am committed to inclusivity amongst my clientele. The only people I will turn away for non-artistic reasons are those who are blatantly disrespectful to me/my colleagues or people seeking tattoos of hateful imagery.  That being said, there are other artistic reasons that I may choose to not do your tattoo such as it not being in a style I am comfortable with or it being on a part of the body I don't feel I will be able to tattoo well. In these cases, I will be happy to refer you to an artist would could execute your dream tattoo more effectively.   Additionally, I do not tattoo people under the age of 18, regardless of parental consent. This is simply because the physical growth that occurs prior to this age can often distort the look and effect of a tattoo.

What tattoos are you currently most interested in doing?

At the moment, I'm hoping to work on some larger geometric and ornamental projects such as half and full sleeves.

Specifically, I would like to do mandala sleeves that alternative between line and dotwork mandalas and incorporate hexagonal patterns. Separately, I would like to do ornamental sleeves that use lacy layered patterns of large dots and leaf shapes.

How do I submit a request?

You can find instructions on how to submit a request on the "Booking" page of this website. Please review my portfolio before submitting your request to ensure that you're looking for something within my style of tattooing. I intentionally do not tattoo in all styles to ensure that I am able to elevate my craft for my clients and consistently deliver high-quality work. I only tattoo using black, grey, and white ink (and occasionally red).

I'm currently prioritizing ornamental and geometric projects, however am happy to consider other designs that fit within my style as well!
